About Coach B

Purposeful Coaching. Practical Progress.

Jimmy Bayes brings together public health, education, community leadership, behavioral support, and NCAA Division I athletic experience to help people move with greater strength and confidence.

The Foundation

From Immokalee, FL to Division I Football

Family, culture, sport, education, and community service shaped the coach and leader behind JB Per4mance.

Chapter 01

Athletics With Purpose

Raised in Immokalee, Florida, Jimmy Bayes grew up with a strong connection to family, culture, athletics, and service. Early volunteer work—including involvement with Habitat for Humanity and a local health department—helped establish a desire to support the community around him.

Bayes went on to compete as a defensive end for the University of South Florida Bulls. NCAA Division I football taught him how to prepare, accept coaching, study performance, respond to setbacks, and continue working when progress is difficult.

Lessons carried into coaching

  • Prepare with intention
  • Use feedback to improve
  • Practice fundamentals consistently
  • Respond to setbacks with purpose
  • Connect effort to a meaningful goal

Education and Perspective

A Public-Health Foundation

Chapter 02

Seeing the Whole Person

While at USF, Bayes explored psychology and physical therapy before finding his academic home in public health. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the USF College of Public Health in 2018.

That education expanded his understanding of how movement, behavior, environment, access, education, and community support can influence health. JB Per4mance therefore treats training as more than a collection of exercises. Better movement can support independence, participation, confidence, and quality of life.

The JB Per4mance lens

  • Movement connects to everyday life
  • Environment affects opportunity
  • Education improves engagement
  • Confidence supports consistency
  • Progress should be sustainable

Turning Setbacks Into Service

Chapter 03

A New Competitive Purpose

A shoulder injury changed Bayes’s path toward professional football. The transition also gave him firsthand insight into the emotional and identity challenges athletes can experience when competition ends unexpectedly.

Rather than allowing that chapter to determine what came next, he redirected his drive toward education, coaching, youth development, and community leadership. His experience informs a whole-person coaching style that recognizes the connection between physical progress, mindset, identity, confidence, and purpose.

Performance beyond sport

  • Develop resilience through action
  • Create a new definition of progress
  • Build confidence through successful practice
  • Use athletic lessons in everyday life

Giving Back

Education and Youth Leadership

Chapter 04

Investing in Community

Bayes returned to Immokalee with a commitment to invest in the community that helped raise him. At the time of the 2023 USF profile, he was coaching at his former high school, serving as president of the Immokalee Youth Sports League, and working in the classroom.

Teaching and coaching share a common foundation: meet people where they are, communicate clearly, establish expectations, reinforce useful habits, and make improvement visible. Coach B brings that educator’s mindset to each client and athlete.

Leadership principles

  • Listen before creating the plan
  • Explain both the how and the why
  • Recognize progress consistently
  • Develop people, not only performance
  • Create opportunities for the next generation

Chapter 05

An Educator’s Approach

Inside the classroom, Bayes learned to organize information, adapt instruction, reinforce fundamentals, and help students see a path forward. Those skills translate directly to personalized coaching.

Clients should understand what they are practicing and how it relates to their goals. JB Per4mance emphasizes clear cues, appropriate progressions, purposeful repetition, and feedback that helps people become more confident in their movement.

What clients can expect

  • Patient, practical explanations
  • Training adapted to the individual
  • Measurable progress markers
  • Professional accountability
  • A supportive but challenging environment
